Cotton

Cotton fabric, or as it's known in Thai from the English word "Cotton," is the most widely used fabric among all types of clothing. It is well-suited for wear during the heat of summer, or it can be worn every day in countries with hot, humid climates year-round, because cotton fiber can absorb sweat and release it quickly and easily.

Cotton fabric is made from cotton fiber, which comes from the cotton plant that grows well in warm, humid, sunny regions. When the cotton bolls fully ripen, they burst open revealing white, fluffy fiber, which is then harvested, separated from the husk and seeds, and spun into fiber and yarn before it can be woven into fabric and put to use. It is then cut and sewn into clothing, such as t-shirts

Cotton fabric has a fairly sturdy texture, is not very elastic, wrinkles easily, shrinks easily, absorbs water well, ventilates air and heat well, is easy to wash and clean, and withstands heat well—it can be ironed at high temperatures.
