Jute

Jute is a plant fiber obtained from the stem of the plant (bast fiber), similar to linen fiber and ramie fiber. It has been used since the very beginning of civilization, but was not of much economic importance until the late 18th century. Today, jute is one of the most widely used fibers in the world, particularly in countries with lower economic status, because it is an inexpensive fiber.
